Well, it's finally time for some relaxing and Ouzo. My green thumbs are off to Kefalonia, Greece to recharge their chlorophyll and restore the mental balance which they have lacked so evidently during these awful, scorching summer days. Days of cursing at fallen magnolia leaves and the stenching pond beneath are behind us. The only hard thing is having to part with our garden and the crew, and leave it in the hands of a mischievous, involuntary gardener and his wicked associates, the garden monkeys. Hopefully they will not use their brutal, bulky lawn mower on my front lawn, hopefully they will not overwater my plants as they usually do, hopefully they will follow the breadcrumbs trail towards the fertilizer, and remember to water the hanging baskets... Right, Dad? ''Hope for the best but prepare for the worst''.
